Here’s What It Will Do

The Inflation Reduction Act will do:

1. lower costs for families,
2. combat the climate crisis,
3. reduce the deficit, and finally
4. ask the largest corporations to pay their fair share of Taxes.

Here’s how families will see savings—Prescription Drugs.

Medicare. Medicare Recipients see a cap on Health care costs.

• Prescription drug prices will go down.

• 13 million Americans will continue to save an average of $800 per year on health insurance premiums
• 3 million more Americans will have health insurance than without the law.

Climate:

There is money in the bill for Solar panels, wind turbines, and grid-scale battery plants.

 This will benefit homes, businesses, and communities.

It’ll be cheaper to buy an electric car and solar panels, resulting in millions of good-paying clean energy jobs.

There’s money to protect 2 million acres of National forests.

All these provisions are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Taxing The Rich

Finally, because this is a short but sweet Political Woman post, additional tax money will come in to help pay for some of this. Those taxes target big corporations and high-income people.

Okay. Rich people are going to have to pay taxes and pay a lot more taxes than they’ve been paying.

And what we’re talking about is people who make more than $400,000 a year, you know, currently, some of these people pay less or no money, you know, than you or I, you know, are just struggling to make ends meet sometimes. So, yeah, that’ll be great. Also, there are dozens of corporations that pay zero taxes, and this is going to tax them at a fair rate.

And that’s where some of the deficit reduction money will come from.

Yes, this bill is costing money. If you hear these right-wingers talk about this, it’s also earmarked a reduction in the deficit, which we all agree is good. So, yeah, a major, major win for President Biden. Remember it because when you or your loved ones can breathe the air, or you or your loved ones can afford grandma to have the insulin she needs, you can take the Democrats and thank Joe Biden.

And not one Republican voted for this. And what’s wrong with them?

This is what matters. The issues that matter to Americans. And this will help, you know, if you’re paying less for your energy costs, which you will. Once this infrastructure is built and going, it will save you money in the long run. So, yeah, it may not happen tomorrow, but you will see a difference in your lives.
