I first read about this story in the New York Times on April 5, 2023. 

I was shocked and appalled. I followed the links and found the PDF of the report. And then I became sick. 

Here is what I wrote for my short social media video. 

In Baltimore, Maryland. A Story about The Catholic Church and the sexual abuse of children and teens. 

The Baltimore Catholic Clergy abused hundreds of Children and Teens. A 463-page investigation released by the Maryland attorney general detailed the “enormous scope and scale” of the scandal.

The abuse of children and teens spans 60 years. This was going on for 60, and the Church did nothing to stop it or to keep the abusers away from our Children.

State officials do NOT expect to file criminal charges concerning these crimes.

Why NOT?

But the legislature in Maryland just passed a bill repealing the Statute of Limitations for sexual abuse lawsuits. So victims can sue the church. By the way, the Church lobbied against the bill. Calling it unfair.

Where is the Outrage?

There has not been much attention given to this story. But it is worth noting that so-call religious groups continue to attack the rights of women, minorities, and others.

The story broke on April 5, right about when the former president grabbed headlines.
